This Week in the Sunshine Class
This week we will be talking about opposites, Big & little, black & white, night & day.
We will be doing some top and bottom art, a big & little collage, and a pajama party. The children can bring in a pillow or a stuffed animal if they want and we will have a movie in our class on those days. I have a parent that is bringing in a couple of movies that have stories on them that we will choose from.

A note from the teacher
Thank you to everyone who helped with the carnival in any way and thank you to all of you who came and participated in it as well. It was a lot of fun to see everyone having such a good time.:)
The Hough Parade is finally here…..
The Hough Parade is parade that takes place downtown Vancouver on St. Patrick’s Day. Our school is going to walk in it this year, which I am very pleased with the sense of community and we get to wear our purple shirts. Purple and green go together right ? We will release at 11:30 that day so everyone wishing to participate or watch the parade may. We will meet on the corner of McLoughlin & Daniels Streets at 12:00 to check-in. The parade begins at 12:30. The theme is Yes We Can. There will be no afternoon class that day as we will all walk in the parade. Parents will need to accompany their kids if they are walking with our group. You can bring strollers or wagons, maybe even decorated ones!
Parent Conferences are coming up at the end of April but will only be held on Thursday and the school will be closed on Friday because of the Church Rummage Sale. If you would like a conference we can schedule it for Thursday but please feel free to contact me at any time if you have any questions.

A note from the teacher
The Carnival
The Carnival is this Thursday March 12th from 5 – 8. This is an inexpensive fun family night. There will be two bounce houses, a treasure dig, fishing game, face painting and a photographer will be there to take your family picture! Dinner will be served from 5-7 and will include hot dog, juice/water, and a cookie. Meal tickets can be purchased at the door for $6.00. Game tickets can also be purchased that night and are 4 for $1.00. The bounce houses will be 2 tickets all other games will only be 1 ticket.
We will host the Photography Booth, so I will be asking for volunteers to help with our booth. You can also sign up to help set for and clean up after the carnival, it’s a great way to serve your hour of volunteer work that is asked by the school.
We have also asked for items for our auction baskets, which are a
Gift Card Basket for the morning class and a Sweet Treat Basket for the afternoon class. We would like to have those items by the 10th at the latest.
